I understand how you feel. Sometimes it is annoying to hear people singing about Baby Jesus ALL DECEMBER LONG so I fill out mall comment cards. They do no good. Christians represent the majority in this country and their needs are met first

It's a tough choice, "O Holy Night" or "Up on the Housetop", no-- worse: "Santa Baby". I don't know any day that inspires more obnoxious music. But the First Amendment does not extend to the marketplace. Merchants do whatever will bring in the most paying customers. (Sometimes I wonder if the songs are selected deliberately to turn people's brains off.) They do respond to customer opinion, but even more to customer action. Make sure the manager knows you don't like the music, no reason necessary, and that you are not buying because of it.
We've got a local radio station that prohibits xmas music in December. They figure there's plenty of other opportunities for xmas nuts to get their fix. I promote them when I can. And I try to avoid the stores that insist on playing the other stuff.
BTW, I believe the proper spelling is "xian".

there is no right not to hear christian music, only to not have our government endorse religion. I was forced by a former employer to listen to that crap all day.
and that's some lame trolling your doing there, Sparky.

You're just trying to make atheists look bad with your extremism.
Malls are privately owned and can play what they like. It would be nice if some played a Chanukah song or two now and then out of respect for their Jewish shoppers, and I'm sure some do where there's a sizable Jewish population, but it doesn't offend me. I rather enjoy the upbeat music, though I'll admit to getting a little tired of hearing some songs played over and over and over again.

Why should the entire country stop doing something that they believe in, when only a few people don't like it? Like other people said, you can wear ear plugs, or not shop at those malls. Also, it is your choice to be offended by those songs. I don't see any infringement on your rights, like I said, it is your choice.
I'm sorry that you are mad at us, have a good day, and Merry CHRISTmas.

All of the merchants in the mall had a meeting in october to decide how best to irritate you. They decided on Christian music during December.
They are so happy that you are irritated.

The malls are not publically funded, they are privately owned. You have the right to not shop there if you find the music offensive. You have the right to complain to mall management. Mall management has the right to ignore you.
