I think its a good book. And a work of FICTION.
Just because Da Vinci had theories, it doesnt make them correct. I could theorize that grass is pink but that wouldnt matter if the grass isnt pink.

Far too much travel and luck in the plot to be believable. The theory is interesting but impractical. Why would having descendants constitute a "deeper" meaning for the Gospels? The "sang real" legend, insofar as it was believed, was no more than a trumped up justification for the Merivingian kings. And if, in fact, Jesus did have descendants, what does that mean? Are we supposed to treat them differently? Do they have special powers or messages to impart? And if they don't recognize themselves, what's the point of BEING a descendant?
There's plenty of evidence throughout the Bible to suggest that God is not impressed by bloodlines. And any officials in the Catholic church who have matters to suppress would be concerned with much more practical matters than the identity of any such putative descendents of Christ. Opus Dei may be "dangerous" but it's for its fanaticism, not some post-templar conspiracy.

The book was OK for a murder mystery, but there were many holes in the logic leading up to the ending. I haven't read anything else by the author and likely won't since this book had a hard time holding my attention.

Bad book but a worse movie. Tom Hanks probably still wakes up in the night screaming.

I think its a load of crap designed to make people reject Jesus and rely upon their own logic of who they think God is. That's sad because it won't matter in the end what anyone logically thinks about God. He is who He says He is and not what people conjure up in their minds or believe out of a movie.
