These are two separate issues. First of all, keep the baby regardless of what you decide about him. You don't need to stay with him! But it isn't the baby's fault. He or she deserves a chance at life - and you can provide that with or without a man! If you are not ready, adoption is always available, of course.

However, yes - people can and do quit drugs for good - it happens all the time. But I don't know your situation personally, so I don't know if he is serious about quitting. It has to be something he really wants to do. If he doesn't do it because he wants to, then it will be very difficult and he will slip back into it.

Drugs are very difficult to overcome. He cannot just quit on his own. He should check into a rehab clinic of some kind and then have follow-up treatment. Otherwise, it will be nearly impossible.

I wish you the very best! Good luck with this.

Laura Listen closely: My daughter, I worked with the courts and her for four years, my entire checks went for her courts costs and for her support while she went through a court (federal)drug program. She did slip four times and, it was extended.
It almost cost my marriage and our sanity, we went to bed crying over the years many times. she was on the streets in Vegas for a year, we were going crazy. Her husband is still down there, he's been there on drugs for 26 years now. He's been in Apache Junction four years...Florance Four years....Indian Springs Four years in and out of all the county jails and the state prisons and jails. He's waiting trial for grand theft auto and drugs and carrying now, he's also a three time loser. His son has never seen him, he's 14 years old.

Laura: if I can get through to you, my daughter has been O.K. after three years now. But it took our health, all our money and our sanity. Don't do it Honey, Run away, pack your bags and run. Keep the baby, this isn't the issue, he and his habit is, he won't stop, it'll always be there, run Baby run.
