I want to buy a portable dvd player by Audiovox but I've never heard of this brand. if you have is it a good one .

Audiovox is a reputable company, with good quality products :)
They are comparable to Emerson or GE products.

Audiovox has been a respected name in audio at least since the very early 1970's when they were a 'high end' car stereo manufacturer. they are definitely not a newcomer nor are they low quality though I would not know if they have gone down over the years

I have an Audiovox cellphone.....I am surprised you've never heard of them they make many products. I love my phone and have NEVER had any trouble with it......if that helps at all...Good Luck!

I've had two of their products. A car radio with a tape player. It was pretty good for a while, then the tapes started sounding garbled. I've got a CD player boom box now, it was pretty good for a couple years, but now it won't recognize CD-R's any more. I'm gonna have to junk it. My opinion, if you want something that will last get a better brand.

Yes. They used to be garbage from what I remember.
They're probably better now.
