If so, why did you stay at a motel and not hotel (besides being cheaper), did you like it, would you do it again?

I take my family on vacation for 1-3 days every 2-3 months.
We have stayed in Motels.
We have stayed in Hotels.
We have stayed in Suites.
All three, some expensive, a lot middle, some cheap.

Here is the difference; Hotels have BIG LOBBIES with really HIGH CEILINGS.

What about the rooms? ALL look the SAME!! Hotels, motels, suites. Suites have 1 more room added; such as a small living room where the couch is a bed, too. But for the extra money, not worth it.

We rent a couple of motel rooms, with joining doors, and everyone is happy. 6 of us. We all go in a van. Me, wife, son, wife's sister, wife's sister's two kids.

I have once with my school we were on a trip...it was pretty decent clean and nice..but i would prefer a hotel even though it is much more expensive i think it has better service..and the food is probably bettter lol...but motels are more convieniet since there all over the place lol...and more affordable..so if i was nowhere near a hotel i would definatly go back to a motel

Hmm, they arent much different. Depend son how you define hotel and motel.

I have stayed at many a roadside motel when driving accross the country because usually that is all that is available on those highway exit towns.

Hotels are usually "destination" places. Places you stay when you are staying somewhere for a while whereas motels are one night and keep moving type places!

Hotels tend to have more amenities and facilities available than do motels. Motels tend to be less expensive. I've stayed in both many times. It's all about budget, availability, and what you're looking for in your accomodations.

Motels suck... stains on the bed spreads, bugs under the sink, hairs where hairs don't belong...

Sounds romantic doesn't it?

Spend the extra bucks always.... or stay at home.

yes, dont see any difference once your in your room. The big hotels have more to do in the lobby & bars.

It was closer to the freeway. It was clean and not bad at all. I'd do it again.
