Years ago, Kodak made two versions: one for Nikon lenses and one for Canon lenses. The cheapest I can recommend however, is the current Canon 5D. This model costs $2500 after rebates. For the same price, you could also get a used Canon 1DS in good condition.
The 1DS is a discontinued pro camera with a better AF system and better build quality. The 5D has a newer sensor and software, comes with a warrantee, and you won't have to worry if the shutter is close to needing an overhaul.

I do all my photography work with a Canon 400D rebel and good quality grass. I've sold images made witth this camera to various magazines, webpages, and corporate organizations such as the likes of IBM. I guess the non-full-frame CMOS sensor produced adequate photos for me. You can view some of my photos at my myspace page. If money is no obstacle, by all means get the 5D.

I only know of two current models and the Canon EOS 5D is by far the "cheapest."
