I have some problems with acne especially around that time of the month. I thought that acne was a teenage problem, I'm 26 yrs now and its getting to be embrassing. Can u suggest something? I heard proactiv works, does anyone know if this is true or not? And if so do u have to continue using it to control the breakouts? And can I find this product in stores or just on the net?

If over the counter solutions containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide aren't working for you, then the best thing to do is see your doctor. I've tried many non-prescription solutions (including proactiv), but I've found that prescription medications work best.

I am 38 years old and I still struggle with that problem. Now as for Proactive -- yes, it really works and it is the best thing out there that I found to work and it did an excellent job! (BUT) you have to keep using it and that is why I struggle now. I can not afford 50$ a month to stop acne. I am telling you that Proactive does really work and it worked great for me for the 3 months that I tried it. I just can not afford the price every month. So I went on a hunt for something that would help me battle this acne problem and found nothing that comes close to Proactive. So I go to the Wal-Mart store or Kmart store and try something in a pad form ( I like the pads better) and I get somthing that is at least 2% Salicylic Acid because I have a very oily face. Neutrogena works pretty good. As for getting Proactive in the stores - I am not aware of Proactive being in the stores yet. I think I have tried everything on the market and I still battle this problem.

Yes Proactiv work AT FIRST but it will stop working once you stop using it! That's what I heard from Carley's customers! No products on the market have the long term track record Carley's do!

YES there is a product similar to Proactiv but BETTER!! Not sold in stores!!

I found a product that works A LOT BETTER & CHEAPER than Proactiv!! Unbelievable? Read their feedbacks & reviews!! If do u think their feedbacks are fake, read their eBay feedbacks! eBay feedbacks NEVER lies!!

Also, NO time limit on guarantee! You can get a refund at any time after purchasing it. Why rush? Take your time to decide if it's for you (don't you just hate those 30 day guarantees)!

It's up to you! You can continue or discontinue using this product to control acne & breakouts but many people seems to continue using this product even if they have achieved the desired effects!! Who can't resist using Carley's Clear & Smooth? cuz it's ADDICTIVE & CHEAP!!!

They have been selling their products like HOT cakes since October 1999!! They have LOADS of feedbacks & reviews you can read and judge!

If you're interested, email me for their website & eBay store links where u can buy online..
amira93_survey@yahoo.com

I can't post the link here. It's spamming & I don't want a lot of people to know my secret! KIDDING!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

I think it depends on the person. It works fairly well for my son and not at all for my daughter. You can buy a generic brand of Proactiv at either Wal-Mart or Target. It's called Acne-Free and it's allot cheaper than Proactiv -- like $20 for the entire kit.

alright. first don't use "acne scrub". the source of acne is largely irritation. pro active can work but it can have some side affects. a revised version and lots of very good info can be found at acne.org. ive been using this system for 6 months and i am CLEAR. also, the problem with dermatologists is they are JUST OUT TO MAKE MONEY. the majority of products they give you make them the most money, especially dermatologists who have there own line (aka the proactive women). the thing about acne.org is he has a line BUT ALSO tells you what you can get at the store to replace his line. this proves him to be not a lying jerk, but someone who actually cares.

Acne appearing as red or white pimples and blackheads that can leave temporary scar on the face. More serious forms leave the face pockmarked.

Acne occurs when sebum blocks the sebaceous ducts, forming a plug, and bacteria on the surface of or just beneath the skin start to proliferate. The eruption of acne is activated by heat, after exposure to the sun or before periods in women.

Unless your is very mild, and to consult your doctor is recommended, to help prevent any permanent scarring or pigmentation.

Your own habit can help you....
Always cleanse your face in the morning and evening with gentle, non-aggressive products. try to avoid soap;(unless is pH-BALANCED SOAP.) just use plain warm water. Avoid astringents, as they only encourage the skin to product more oil.

Include plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and live, natural yoghurt in your diet and try hard to maintain a regular intake of 8-10 glasses of water per day.

You can try Aloe Vera application, apply an aloe Vera based cream or gel twice a day.

Well I use to have acne and i used NEUTROGENA so i took that in the morning and at night you can also do it in the afternoon make sure you get oil free and moisture your skin with lotion so that it doesn't dry out. I know that they say you should use proactive, but neutrogens is something that you can afford i bought it at 3.95 or 4.95 can' remember.

Ok
What you do is go to Wal-mart or target and buy a soap called neutrogena {acne scrub} Also buy a liquid that's called astringent.

Now, What you do with these is first wash your face with the neutrogena {acne scrub} then dry your face with a very clean towel, and wipe your face with a cotton ball full of the liquid of astringent . you can get these things from a local store. Very cheep too! you can get both things for $5.00

Plus honey,
Don't worry about being embarrassed, everyone gets acne!
even me {LOL}
Good luck!

Yes, PROactive works, but it's pretty expensive, and you have to keep using it. I don't know where you can get it at. Something else I would recomend is any acne medecine from "Clinique" all their products work great.

everyone already gave advice on how to clean it up...here are some thing i have found work well, also, that you never think about...
change your pillowcases every day. sleeping on a pillowcase that has oils from your face and hair on it is a bad idea because that oil will get back onto your face the next night while you sleep. changing them actually made a difference with me.

dont touch your face often. oils from your hands can clog pores.

water cleans out your system well. but junk food and pop have nothing to do with acne. its all a myth. trust me.
