The United States military cannot be defeated in combat - by any military on Earth. That is a fact, not conjecture, but the keyword is "combat".

All wars are not fought 100% through military combat, but those where the armed forces are permitted to do what they do best - the US will dominate.

Dessert storm was over in 100 hours of the ground war.
OIF was over in 3 weeks. US troops and their allies are beyond superb at what they have been trained to do.

Unfortunately, due circumstances of politics they are now trapped in a hellish limbo where their true potential is suppressed.

BTW, when did rubbish become an adjective?

I am an American soldier myself. I think you would probably want to look at history and current events before making such a statement. If it does appear soldiers are rubbish in winning wars it is because the type of wars we unfortunetly get into. And it is not the soldiers themselves, but as many people have mentioned, our restrictions because we have some good in us. If we had no restrictions, the American military would be in comparison to a Roman Empire. Able to conquer any country in the world at any time with no problem. Bombs, bombs, bombs, bombs, and some more bombs. But, that would be a horrific scene to innocent people. Point is, we train harder than any other military in the world. We are not only trained the best, we have the best equipment. We are also the most intelligent military in the world. And yes, those are facts. I could send you some vids if you like on how hard we train to take out people of your nature. Anyways, politics cause things to seem as though rubbish.

We are not. We have beaten some of the worlds best militaries in history. If you want to talk about a few battles start with the Revolutionary War. Look at five battles, Bunker Hill, Saratoga, Guilford Courthouse, Kings Mountain, and Yorktown in detail. In the War of 1812 look at New Orleans. Nearly 3,000 British dead and wounded in exchange for 15. And that Army was made up of Wellingtons best Peninsular War veterans. Look at all our Indian wars. Look at the Texas Revolution. Look at the Mexican War. Read how Colonel Bowen Campbell said "follow me boys" and the "bloody first Tennessee" stormed the Tannery at Monterrey. Look at the Civil War on both sides. The Spanish-American war. WWI our casualties may have been lower than the other Allies overall, but we brought new blood, some very efficient troops, and a minor effect in improving tactics, that finally won the war. WWII, it's debatable if the British or us had the best generals on the Allied side. But the Russian casualty rates they say won the war were as much because of piss poor tactics and leadership in many ways as the claim they did the brunt of the war. Since the main problem is politicians. Not troops. We win all the battles just about. The politicians butt in and lose the war.

The American military is not "rubbish" about winning wars. We (I am currently serving soldier) are proud to serve this great country of ours and always desire to win. Unfortunately, the U.S. loses wars when politicians, like the liberals, berate, disparage, and demean the military which in turn causes the country to be split in their support of the military. The U.S. also loses when politicians do not allow the military commanders to do their job. You may not believe this but it's the truth. If you take a poll of every military member, you will find that the vast majority want to fight a good fight. Yes, there are some in the military who do support liberals but they are in a distinct minority.

We lost the war in Vietnam because of these damn hippy anti war protestors. Real Americans dont burn their draft cards because they are afraid to go to war. We should have not invaded Iraq as we did if we would have waited longer and gathered more evidence we would have had more foreign support from other nations. Now we have more anti war protestors who think bringing our troops home this very day will fix everything no doubt about it. We got ourselves into this mess and more people are dying im not just talking about our soldiers but also innocent Iraqi civilians. I know that Saddam also killed many people but we havent done very much im not saying we havent done anything just not as much as i hope we do to help the Iraqis. O ya if you're British we helped to save you in WWII remember that from history class.

American soldiers are the best soldiers in the world. They are the best-trained, the best-equipped, the most highly motivated soldiers in the world.

The problem isn't the soldiers. The problem is the commanders-in-chief who listen to crackpot advisers and throw the soldiers into conflicts where a winning scenario isn't possible.

The phrasing of your question leads me to believe perhaps you are from England? The same England that we Americans kicked in the Revolution. You know it as the war in the colonies, or more accurately the EX-colonies since you lost. I seem to recall a little trouble you were having with a certain madman named Hitler UNTIL the good old U.S. of A. came to your rescue and kept the Nazi's from blowing your lovely country to pieces. Well maybe you're not from England, but what the heck if you are from Germany, Japan, Spain, Italy, or Mexico you have also tasted the American sword in defeat. Don't bash our soldiers. They could easily kill anything in their way, but that is not the mission. I would explain more, but you obviously wouldn't understand.

because morons like yourself like to think that war is all pretty and ends when we capture the bad guy's flag and raise our own on a pole. it doesnt end until ALL the bad guys are dead. not taught a lesson, not shown that we mean business, DEAD. that takes a while because they hide in holes and we have to play wackamole with them for years. when the peace and love fags cry and call up their congressmen every time a soldier puts a bullet in a jihadi who was "just crying out for help" or "just expressing himself" it impedes matters further. our soldiers are professionals. they do not need your input.

Because we don't actually pull out all the stops - if we did, it would be all over in minutes. But there are all those issues - like mosques, women & children, etc. If we wanted to "win", we could in a heartbeat.
