They don't say we can't date outside of our religion just that they advise us not to. The reason being like any religion or culture they want us to date and marry someone that has the same beliefs and ideals, and morals. If we do not get married in a Temple and just have a civil ceremony we are still considered to be married.
I can say that Bella may have an aunt that is Mormon and may know a little bit about the church but she is only half right.
We do have Temples and we believe that if we are WORTHY to go to the Temple and be married, and unlike other religions or marriage ceremonies that only say until death do you part, we believe that we can be sealed for all time and eternity.
She is also correct in that we need to be members but only in the aspect that since the Temple is a higher house of God than the regular churches and need to meet stricter guidelines, we need to be interviewed by our Bishop to make sure that we are living a worthy life. I know many LDS members that can not go inside a Temple. They can go no further than the general public. So yes, being a member is one thing but does NOT guarantee admission to a Temple.
But if you want to know about someones religion the best way to find out is ask a member of that religion.

My aunt is a mormon, so I can speak of that. Thy don't technically refuse it, but they are against it. They have temples they get married in seperate from their churches. These temples are said to bind the spirits together. However, you have to be baptised a mormon to be able to get into the temple, so you can see that they pretty much make you. They also believe that if you are not married in a temple, you are not married and are living in blasphamy. I'm not sure how other religions handle it, though.

I am christian, and yes we have the same rule... the reason is because if I go out lets say with a Satanist or another religion that is OPPPOSITE which is the keyword to me and I go out with them,....we will be arguing all the time and wont get a long because of that,... then our hearts will be broken...thats why god forbids that!
