there's no "best way"
key components of love are passion, commitment and intimacy.
*the passion is the intense chemisty that you have together. it's the feeling that you just want to tear their clothes off, and want no one else but them
*the commitment is the love that you feel for them and would never cheat on them. this is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, in sickness and in health, til death do you part
*the intimacy is the fact that they are your best friend. you can tell this person anything and be completely honest with them about everything
true love has all three of these factors

ususally people would try the kiss in the rain but that's alittle overated. usually (what I think) is that it's someone you'd never really expected to just show up in your life. Like they never really mattered before but they just stand out in a way that you like kinda yeh. =)
