Rumacki

wrap sliced water chestnuts in 1/2 strips bacon. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Pour off excess grease and cover with a mixture of (i know this sounds gross) 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup chili sauce and 1/4 cup mayonaisse, bake for another 40 minutes at 350.

These are awesome appetizers, though my boyfriend will eat them like a meal! Hint-use a disposable foil pan to cook them in because the grease and carmelized brown sugar makes a huge mess to clean up! ENJOY!

Water chestnuts can be added to salads and stir-fry recipes for extra crunch.

They can also be added to fillings for Chinese dumplings or egg rolls.

There are links below for your reference.

For convenience I use the canned ones - either whole or sliced. I recommend draining them in colander and giving them a really quick rinse under the faucet with cool water to get rid of excess salt.

They're normally for Chinese dishes, but you can also chop them up and put them in salads or even stuffing for that extra crunch. They make a great substitute for celery.

I hate them, I hate them, I hate them. surprisingly much as much as I hate midgets. Water chest nuts make the hair on my neck get up. collectively as your avatar makes different issues get up.
