You lucky person !.I lived in Edinburgh until 6 montha ago. If you want to stay on a budget, the new Youth Hostel is open, about 5 minutes walk from |Princes Street. Otherwise, take your pick of fabulous hotels. The Balmoral is the best in the City. Personally, I prefer The Malmaison on the Shore. It's surrounded by great restaurants ( Skippers, Fishers, Waterline, Martin Wishart ). You can get good deals if you shop around. Edinburgh is the best city on the planet. Have a wonderful time.

I was in Edinburgh in October and really loved it. We stayed at the Caladonia Hilton. The view of the castle is exceptional! They have an excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel is quite posh. The rooms were extremely comfortable.
I am a travel agent and we toured 2 other hotels there, the Balmoral, which is on Prince Street, in the middle of great shopping. The hotel is gorgeous. I was very impressed. The other hotel we toured was the Scotsman. Its a very interesting hotel. All the rooms are different. Its quite small, so it might be difficult to get that many rooms.
If you can afford them, any of these hotels would be lovely for you.

The Edinburgh Tourist Board http://www.edinburgh.org/ may be of help. The Scottish Youth Hostel Association http://www.syha.org.uk/ has opened a new youth hostel called Edinburgh Central. The Smooth Hound System http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/ lists guesthouses but will be typically not in the city.
