please, please, please go with NTL, I`ve used BT for the last 2 years and there service sucks, it takes 30 mins to get through to an operator, who will then try and transfer you again if you have a complaint to someone else and you`ll get cut off there are really bad,
I used Telewest (NTL) previous to this and they where excellent, bills where a lot cheaper and the service was no less than excellent.
I have just bought a new house where I can now use the Telewest/ NTL services (it helped make the deal knowing they had cable in the area).
BT have also sent me m latest bill saying that they will be adjusting prices, higher no doubt, I wouldn`t touch them if I were you, please take this advice, listen to others and I guarantee you`ll be happy.
p.s. there Broadband service is way better also.

Cheapest: NTL.
One you can actually make a phone call on: BT.
Someone in another topic I replied to said: The best broadband deal doesn't exactly translate to the best broadband connection. Simply something to keep in mind.
So, not to just point out how stupid this person is sounding, but they make my point all the more strongrer, you'll want a phone-line you can actually make calls on, NTL, not only has a lot more down-time, it also takes them like 3 weeks to fix it sometimes, so unless you can't afford the extra £2 a month, BT in the long-run, as you won't be spending so much money trying to contact NTL telling them how inferior their service is.

definately NTL. However much BT tries to match them they can`t.
Have been with NTL for 6 years and never regretted it.Their package of telephone, broadband and TV is good value compared to BT`s offer.Well worth a try.

i don't know about NTL but BT charge a fortune. We have recently changed to Talk talk and now get broadband and telephone for the same amount as we were paying for broadband alone.. there are loads of deals out there right now and my advice is to go to "money saver expert" web site to check out the best deals available to your area.. you may be suprised!

you may have the flexibility to apply the telephone as a telephone: place and acquire calls. What won't artwork is a few valuable properties like calling the voice mail, the place this is a key on the bt telephone this is somewhat a speedy dial to the voice mail style and if that's not configurable and NTL makes use of a differnet style, then it won't artwork, yet you will call the voice mail by ability of assigning the fast dial to a differnt key or dialing it your self.

If you are getting BT broadband you get Broadband talk, i.e. effectively free calls evenings and weekends and very good rates for international calls
