Two great fighters that had good boxing skills and both were vastly underrated. This will be the fight of the year just like Holmes/Norton. This bout will have the same outcome. Holmes by a 15 rd split decision.

Very interesting question Brent! I believe this would have been a tremendous fight. Holmes of course has the superior hand speed and that great jab of his. Holyfield I believe had more power and was a true warrior in the ring with a fierce determination to win. I know a lot of people would think that Holmes would win because of his boxing skill but I believe that the determined Holyfield would get inside and land some hard shots to Holme's head and body. I believe this would be a very close fight with Holyfield capturing a close decision victory.

I have never been big on these questions, but I will answer this one. Holmes had a superior jab. The best one after Liston. He would of kept the shorter fighter in Holyfield on the outside. Holyfield likes to get inside and it would be a chore with Holmes. It would go all 15 rounds if in 1979 or 12 rounds in 1991 with an easy UD desision for Holmes. I'm a huge Holyfield fan, but Holmes was underated. He would beat every fighter in the HW division today if in his prime.

This is a good fight and both of these fighters have big hearts but if I had to pick a winner it would be Holmes in a 15 round fight Evader has been know en to get tired late in fights I know that Evader could not get out of the way of Holmes jab and the jab would dictate the fight I see Holmes stopping Evader in the 14th round on cuts after a knock down with a left right combination

Sorry, "Pimptivities," yet there's a huge question. They fought one yet another in 1992 and it wasn't as if Holyfield demolished a 40 2 365 days previous Holmes. Holyfield had a bent to wrestle his opponent's type at the same time as baited. And Holyfield were given in hassle at the same time as he fought his opponent's wrestle. Watch the Cooper and customary Bowe wrestle. i imagine Holmes out jabs Holyfield and takes a UD for the win.

I feel Holmes had too much ability in his prime for Holyfield to deal with.Evander was a nice fighter, but came up into the division at the right time, when several of the fighters he ended up fighting(Thomas, Tillis, Dokes), were well past their prime stages.Holmes would either stop Holyfield late or decision him.

Larry Holmes is a better boxer and he does well against very good boxer punchers similar to the style and type of fighter Evander Hollyfield is.

Both are very brave can punch and take a punch. I just think his stronger physical strength will see him though and his boxing skills.

A close match though.

that would be an interesting match a really good match up but i have to go with holmes who had the best jab in history and one of the best chins he was very underated havin to follow on from ali he didnt get the recognition he deserved and robbed against michael spinks twice they didnt want him to beat marcianos record of 49 & 0 i promise you having said that holyfield was a great boxer the biggest heart in boxing and in his prime could wipe the floor with the crap of today

holmes would jab his brains out. evander was a nice boxer too but when it came to boxing at a distance holmes was longer and quicker with his jab..but not a devastating ko artist holmes by 12rd split dec.and that's the truth!
