Even satan and the demons know there is a God and they shutter in His presence. You see God created man and female in His image and in His likeliness. So even though people that worship other entities, deep down inside they know there is a God who does exsist. It's just that satan tells people lies about God that when we do wrong God will not forgive us or that we are usrless. But in fact God loves us so much that He gave His one and only Begotten son, Jesus Christ, the savior, that who ever belives in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life in heaven. Praise the Lord, Amen.

People who are true Satanist do not believe in God, or " Satan "
Nor do they whorship Satan. The term Satanist was coined by Antone LaVeigh and he chose that phrase for his "religion" because it was a slap in the face to hear it, just like talking about Nazi's was durring the war. His religion (and he is the founder) is against Christianity, but it does not support the devil, (in his eyes not Christians) Satanism is about exceeding your potential and being honest with yourself not idle whorship of "gods". The number one most important Satanic holliday is....... not holloween, but your birthday. Satanist focus on our current lives, not the ones we may or may not inherate after death. Really, if you read the Satanic laws, the actually make sense, laws like, do not harm children. Do not harm animals unless for food or you are attacked. (all those people doing animal sacrifices are not true Satanist) Im not a Satanist, or an advocate of them, but I have studied their laws and lives the same as I have Christians, Muslims, and Buddhist. Hope this helped!!

The asker is incorrect, and the first respondent is correct--true Satanists believe in neither Satan nor God. People, get educated before making statements!

Satanists don't worship Satan, I hope you know that. They also don't believe in God. Go do more research on Satanists and then proceed with question asking.

You guys watch too much TV and movies.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satanism
I'm not a religious person, but the one rule of Satanists (as per LeVay) that I don't like is vengeance on others. To me, 'turning the other cheek' isn't a religion-based practice--though it's often taught there--but the response of an evolved human being.
Anyway, to Satanists, satan is merely a 'symbol,' and not an actual entity. Whereas to many religious people, God is more than a symbol.
God in Satanism
There are people today that do believe that there is a god who goes by the name of Satan. However, Satanists do not believe that Satan is a god, rather the function of God is performed and satisfied by the Satanist him/herself. That is, the needs of worship, ritual, and religious/spiritual focus are directed, effectively, inwards towards the Satanist, as opposed to outwards, towards God.
LaVey proposes instead that as all gods are creations of man, worship of an external deity is worship of its creator by proxy. He suggests, then, that the rational Satanist should instead internalize his god, and therefore worship himself; hence the Satanic maxim, "I am my own god."
It follows that Satanism shuns the idea of belief in all other deities as well, including, to the surprise of many, Satan. Satan is viewed as a literary archetype, along the lines of John Milton's epic hero. This archetype is viewed not as a negative figure, but as a positive image of pride and mastery in opposition to servitude, faith, and humility.
Belief in any such externalized deities is generally considered grounds for excluding someone as a Satanist, and devil worship in particular is considered nothing more than a misguided inversion of Christianity.

Because Satan was condemned by God, and most Satanists believe that. Satanists don't disbelieve in God, they choose to worship the devil rather than God.

Ditto what above user Jett stated.
True satanists do not believe in a Satan, because "satan" is a Christian concept.
