I don't see how the number of Christians prove that it works...It seems that only proves it was spread through violent force, not a principal of Christianity....

It doesn't work in theory or in practice.
As Bill McKibben wrote in a recent edition of Harpers magazine:
“America is simultaneously the most professedly Christian of the developed nations and the least Christian in its behavior. That paradox illuminates the hollow at the core of our boastful, careening culture. After all, in the days before his crucifixion, when Jesus summed up his message for his disciples, he said the way you could tell the righteous from the damned was by whether they’d fed the hungry, slaked the thirsty, clothed the naked, welcomed the stranger, and visited the prisoner.”

Your question doesn't have enough parameters.
Does it only work in theory at what?
At salvation? Then the answer many people would give is no. Many believe it to be the only path.
As a guideline for life? Once again many people would say no, and that it was the best guideline and that all answers to life's problems could be found in the Bible.
Or are you, as many do, confusing Christian ideals with Christianity?

The fact that Christianity is the largest religion in the world proves it works in reality. Mother Theresa was a prime example.

if the world was governed by christian rules we would only have people asking for forgiveness. theres a problem with that because of mentally ill people and people who dont care and will kill anyways so you really couldnt keep order
