I was going to ask this question myself. My psychiatrist put me on Zoloft last summer. I'm actually now taking 200mg of it's generic form, Sertraline. It's been a miracle drug for me! I've suffered from depression for many years (I am 41 now) and this is the first anti-depressant that has virtually eliminated my depression.
Of course, everyone is different. So Zoloft might not work for you. But it's done wonders for me!!
The only side effects I've experienced are sexual and medical in nature (nothing serious) that I don't care to mention here.

Been on Zoloft for 10 years and it has worked well. About 3 months ago my doc raised the level to 150 mg instead of 100 mg per day. No side effects once I got used to it. In the beginning it would make me sleepy. I started Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy 30 days ago and it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. I'm 48 and had a complete hysterectomy when I was 26. Feeling great mentally and physically.

I burned out after taking Zoloft for 6 months so I switched (with my doctor's advice) to Effexor. It is working VERY well. Sometimes dosages can be altered if you begin to experience symptoms again. The most important thing is to give the medicine a chance to work, this could take as long as 6 weeks. Keep an open mind and it should work for you. If not, don't give up. Keep trying new things until you feel GOOD AGAIN!

At Hollywood and Vine i saw what happened to a guy on Zoloft. A businessman approaches my friend on Zoloft. My friend like me is a scruffy-looking hippy-type. My friend was jumping up and down on a manhole cover. He's screaming, "21! 21! 21!" at the top of his lungs.
The businessman asks the hippy, "What are you yelling '21' for?"
The hippy tears off the manhole cover with a grunt, points down into the depths and says, "Check it out man-- you won't believe what you see!"
Not to be undone by a smelly hippy, the businessman heads down the hole and makes it almost to the bottom. Suddenly, the hippy slams down the manhole cover and begins to jump up and down on it, saying, "22!, 22!, 22!,22!,22!.... "

Zoloft would ought to reason severe sweating even nonetheless it won't reason you to sense "no longer your self" in 4 days. It takes 2 weeks to initiate working. It has no on the spot effects. individually, i think of it relatively is on your head. you recognize you're taking it and you're questioning approximately it lots which you're making your self sense weird and wonderful. in simple terms relax, take the medicine, end questioning approximately it, or you will no longer even understand if it relatively is working later.
