So they were executing this guy in Florida and apparently the lethal injection took 34 minutes instead of 15 minutes and the guy was twitching during that time.

Do you care? Do you think he got what he deserved? Do you think he didn't suffer enough? Do you think it is cruel and unusual punishment? Or do you think that capital punishment is just plain wrong?

He may have been twitching but I'm still sure it's better than suffering from a gas chamber or suffocating to death after not having your neck broken during a hanging.

He was sentenced to death and now he's dead that's all that matters. My problem with capital punishment is that if a society is going to have it, once someone is sentenced to death they should be killed within a week, being held only so that the prisoner has time to speak to his family and those wishing to attend may be there.

Yes I care.
I am not convinced that capital punishment is just plain wrong, as you say, but I would still vote against capital punishment because of the way the justice system is set up.
While it is terrible that the execution was botched, A man in prison for life, or even for a few years, would surely suffer, physically, a lot more than what that man suffered (right, I'm not speaking from experience, but I have heard of a lot of stuff that goes on in prison).
Actually, the waiting for years for your final sentencing for capital punishment might be considered to be cruel and unusual punishment.

The guy was a convicted killer. He not only caused pain to the family and friends of the individual(s) he killed, but he murdered someone. For all I know he ripped this poor person apart (I don't know the details). Any suffering that he may have experienced would then be justified.
I agree with capital punishment. If the person had to even be considered for capital punishment, they obivously had to have done something malicious. I'd say ripping someone apart deserves death as punishment.
Him dead is definitly saving tax payers hard earned dollars.
Some argue that capital punishment is cruel and unusual. I'd say it's cruel to an innocent individual, and watch them die by your own hand.
Eye for an eye is always just.

I have to say I really don't care. It is way too humane to use lethal injection anyway, like putting them to sleep. I do have concerns about capital punishment in general, that it should only be used when there are no doubts at all. Otherwise, I really don't care if it took 2 hours, he didn't feel it anyway. Twitching was probably just a reaction of his body, involuntary.

I think the death penalty is wrong. He would suffer more in jail for the rest of his life. They should take away more rights from prisoners also, so they will learn a lesson and not want to return. They don't need televisions. They need books and newspapers.
Merry Christmas.

The way I see it, this man shot and killed another human being. Whether or not he deserves to be killed is another issue. The point is, why should his execution be painless? So what if he suffers through it? He Killed someone else. Why have mercy when he did not?

this particular guy Angel Nieves Diaz, got a really shi†y deal
the way the prosecutors set up the courtroom with Plexiglas
and the police forced his girlfriend to lie about him not being with her that night in Connecticut, the whole case was a frame up.
but, there are death row inmates who tortured their victims for extended periods of time before butchering them, I think the justice system is just plain wrong most of the time

Sorry, but no, I don't care if he suffered for 34 minutes. God only knows how long his victim suffered, and the victim's family has been suffering for 27 years.

He should have had his arms thoroughly examined before the day he was executed. If the politicians and special interests groups didn't interfere so much, he might have been executed 10 or 20 years ago, and quickly.

I'm sure HIS family said it was cruel and unusual punishment, just as sure as I am that the family of the person he murdered said it wasn't any where near painful enough.
