You can't, on the web. If you could, anyone could call your bank, tell the bank they were you, identify "yourself" by telling them your grandmother's maiden name, and have your account balance wired to Las Vegas.

The cheapest way is sitting down with the elders of the family and writing down important birth/death dates and writing down a basic family tree. Then I would take that info and head to the library and do some searching. It would be preferable if you did searching in the home town where your grandma or great grandma or grandpa grew up. YOu could probably find valuable information on old newpapers. ...on microfiche of course. good luck, I know this is alot of work.
