I was wondering when will everyone will be pushed up to vista and old systems resemble to the scrap heap! because ive heard a rumour that windows will be only supplying games to windows vista! (yuk!(rather have linux anyday))

Since XP was supported by Microsoft better than Windows ME, it will be around for a long time. Similar to the support that 95 and 98 got.

yeah XP was vastly better than all its predecesors, but nobodys going to throw out their old computers just to get the latest OS. My dad still runs WIN95 because its stable on slow computers.
The new games feature directX10 which is basically the new high def ultra high spec pc driver. Your gonna need an uber fast pc anyway, which not everyone will be able to a: afford or B: like.

It will be years before they ditch Xp.
