Since "cool" is slang, every Spanish speaking country is likely to have a different word for it. Even within a country, the word may vary from region to region.

There is not one word universally understood by all Spanish speakers. For example: I'm from Mexico and have never heard the words "guay" or "piola" that some suggested.

If you want to communicate the meaning of the word "cool" in Spanish, I suggest you consider the nationality of your interlocutor.

In Mexico, you would say: "Soy cool" ("cool" is pronounced the same way than in English).

Likewise, people from Argentina, for example, may tell you that "soy cool" is incorrect. It's not. It's Mexican slang.

in Spain it would probably be "Soy guay". (pronounced: soy-gu-eye).
"Cool" does not translate to "culo" ...culo is the spanish word for buttocks (or the 3 letter equivalent) and "chulo" would be the equivalent of smartass.

The phrase: "Que guay!" has been used for more than the past decade to mean: "How Cool!" or "How neat!"...and Soy means I am.

And be sure to spell it correctly.. G U A Y... if you forget the U it comes out as gay which has the same meaning in spanish as in english! :-)

Soy

and now take a pick:

impasible, indiferente, descarado, desvergonzado, insolente, sinvergüenza, cínico, atrevido, fresco, desenvuelto,

all are very negative which in principle is the translation to cool, whatever you may think about it, so

I would say: Soy un chico guay

which is Not negative. Now "guay" is used only in Spain but not in Latin American countries.
Good luck.

In Argentine/Uruguayan Spanish you would say "Soy piola."

But no, DO NOT listen to those who wrote "culo". That literally means "butthole".

Probably estoy culo, soy un culo is saying "I am (literally) a cool." I've also heard guay (maybe not used in certain countries or areas) so it could also be "Estoy guay."
