The main difference is, probably, that a Deist would believe in an impersonal God, as some sort of all powerful force which created the universe and then let it exist on its own, while a Christian would believe in a personal God (more specifically, a Trinitarian God, Three Persons in One Essence--Father, Son and Holy Spirit), who is at all times interested in what happens with His Creation (the cosmos) and most of all with human beings. This personal God loves us and does everything for our salvation, while at the same time respecting our freedom.

"deist" believes that God created the world, including humankind, and God governs the world through natural laws which may be known through observation, experience, and reasoning. A "Christian deist" believes this, too. A "Christian deist" also believes that Jesus was a "deist" because he taught that the two natural laws governing humankind are "love for God" and "love for neighbor (each other)."

A Deist believes in the Father, the Directive Creator of the universe.

A Christian believes in the Father, the Directive Creator of the universe, and Christ, the Executive Creator of the universe.

A deist cannot be Christian. They believe a God created the universe and then abandoned it whereas Christians believe God performs miracles and sends us to Heaven or Hell. Don't be mistaken. A deist is not just someone who believes in God, a deist does not believe in the supernatural.

John 2:16 says that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everylasting life. Jesus, who is the express image of God and in whom dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, came to earth to pay the penalty for sin.

A Deist is one who delares that God created the earth and just left it to develop as it would.

Many Christians are lead astray by the teaching that God doesn't care what they do once they profess a belief in Jesus as their savior. That's as contradictory as saying a Deist believes in God.

Deists believe that a god exists but does not interact with events at the scale of human beings.

Christians believe in a god that does.

A deist looks at the universe and says that it implies a creator. Sort of buys the ID argument as I see it. They don't think there is direct evidence or that any organized religion is right because they don't think god is personally involved in our lives.

Christians believe that god sent a messiah and that he told us all about god.

A deist believes in God, a Christian believes that through christ, you can be saved by the God of Christ.

Big difference in beliving in "a God" and believing in "the God." God, as a "jealous God" would never accept generic worship.

I do not believe that Jesus was the son of God. I do believe that the bible was written by men and is no way "inspired" by God.

I do believe that God is the big bang and He does not get involved with us here in any way.

There is only one God. Jesus was a prophet, possibly.
