Wow, that's a long trip. You'll probably stop in Chicago or LAX (maybe even DFW), since many flights to that general area go from there.
Here are some suggestions on what to bring:
-Eyeshades
-Earplugs
-Shaving Kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
-Pillow (one of those neck pillows would be best)
-Several books
-mp3 player (e.g. iPod)
-if you have one, bring a laptop
-watch
-extra money (duty-free stuff is worth it)
-camera (take some pictures, have some fun)
-(Please don't quote me on this one.) Try and get a small pocketknife through security if you won't have access to your checked luggage during layovers. It can be useful for many things, including self-defense. However, if you will have access to your luggage, leave it in there! (Don't blame me if it gets confiscated! It happens to my Dad all the time.)
-Most importantly, bring at least two forms of ID (passport and drivers liscense should do just fine).
Go to your airline(s)'s website(s), and check there. They'll tell you what you really need.
Wear comfortable clothing. Falling asleep should not be a problem. They dim the lights and it's easy to fall asleep.
Enjoy your voyage!

Wear light, loose yet comfy clothes for your flight. Take on a bottle of water (buy it AT the airport and don't open it until after security for obvious resions)
For sleep, don't force yourself. When you get to your destination, try to "slot in" to the new time zone immediatly. Go for regular walks when you can on the plane (When I say when you can, I mean when people are awake or if you have an aisle)
Good Luck and one more thing. Always know where your passport is. When im overseas, I sleep with it in a little pouch! (Passport in the pouch!)

I just got back from China via Detroit, MI. Take books to read. Take one of those neck pillows...they are a pain to carry around, but there is nowhere to rest your head in those seats (I am tall). Take Tylenol in case you get a headache. Walk around a lot. Walking makes the time go faster and keeps your blood circulating properly. Take water - it is so easy to get dehydrated on planes, for some reason. I can't really sleep on planes, so I am not sure about that part. Oh - take some ear plugs to shut out the noise (crying kids, chatter, etc.). Enjoy!

Yeah I agree you need neck pillow to sleep. And they decide when you sleep by turning out the lights :-(
Your feet will swell up to like one shoe size bigger. Stay hydrated. Empty water bottle (since you can't take liquids, you will need to fill it on the plane) is good so you can take sips. Dress in layers.
And if you are flying alone, it's best to have a small bag (can be your pocket, purse or man-bag) so you can keep your passport and money with you when you go to the bathroom or walk around the cabin.

Dress comfortably, carry a light-weight jacket and a u shaped pillow, an mp3 player, books, and loafers. Get thee to a doctor for Ambien so you can enjoy a good sleep. The alternative would be Tylenol PM or Benadryl - but Ambien is better.

regrettably, there extremely are no easy information or tricks which will quickly restoration your flying. getting to understand those skills demands common own interplay with an instructor. do not difficulty which you do not comprehend each little thing, and don't difficulty in case your flying and verbal exchange skills are actually not completely suitable yet. whether you had one hundred hours instead of 27, there might nevertheless be lots to learn. nonetheless, in case your skills extremely are actually not waiting for solo flight, there are 2 probably motives. 27 hours over 2 years ability which you're averaging in basic terms one million-2 flights in keeping with month. in case you're training that not often, it extremely is going to be extra good so which you would be able to hold your training. i might recommend attempting to fly not less than as quickly as each week greatest up to your solo. do not forget the floor college and self learn the two. extra common instructions will advance your skills and self belief lots. the different achievable explanation to your project is the instructor who isn't very useful. in case your instructors are unwilling to instruct you correct, then you definately could discover yet another instructor or yet another flight college. you're spending very much time, attempt, and funds for training, so ensure you come across a devoted instructor. you're able to discover somebody you have faith and somebody who surely needs you to learn. no remember if it extremely is achievable, you additionally should attempt to stay away from switching instructors (it extremely is, as quickly as you have got here upon a stable instructor, you're able to follow them somewhat than changing each and each lesson). i'm hoping it facilitates. stable success together with your training!

Check out the site below to make sure you can bring everything you want to. There are relatively new restrictions on liquids, gels, and aerosols. I'd hate for you not to be prepared and have to throw away your lip gloss or soda.
Otherwise, I don't know what you like, but I'd like to have music, magazines, and a paper, pens, and something colored to write and draw with.

Get a Sony PSP, some games and movies, extra batteries... maybe a book to read, some snacks and a nice fluffy pillow. That should get you through it. I did 16 hours just a few weeks ago, and it got me through.
