To me, the answer lies with-in the Spiritual Essence of God's Law. Other words, not what the law says by word or at face valvue. But, what it saids in Truth!

In Romans 10:3 Paul writes; For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

The Bible tells us here that the average person goes about establishing his or her "Own" righteousness.

Ask any average person, if they think there a good person, most will tell you… Yes! I think I’m a good person. Why?

For the Bible says that every man is "pure in their own eyes." In Psalms 30:12 we read; There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Other words; Humanity proclaims "it’s own" goodness. And the reason they do this, is because they have no ideal of the Righteousness of God.

Why? Because they have "No" Standard to compare themselves to.

It’s like looking a white horse grazing in the green grass and noticing how white and clean it looks, until it starts to snow.

And then after the snow fall’s looking again, and noticed how dirty the horse looked now, against the white snow.

It’s the same horse, so why the different?

There a different, because there’s a different background.

So, when humanity compares itself to man’s standards, we come up reasonably clean. Yes! I think I’m a good person."

There are people in the world if we were to compare ourselves to them, we would come up white as snow. Take for example Hitler, or Charles Mansion. If we compared ourselves to them, we would come out looking white as pure snow.

However, when we have the snowy white "Righteousness" of God’s Laws as the backdrop, then suddenly we can see ourselves as we really are. This is the purpose of the Law.

Spirituality, which is the essence of the Law, should be unsparingly applied to the conscious, until the self-righteousness is destroyed. Until we stand speechless, self-condemned, before a Holy God.

That is talking about sins. Why do we nit pick so much on other people but sin "worse" (although all sin unforgiven is putting one in dire straights with their relationship with God) that thsoe that you were trying to correct.

It is about human nature, we are all legalistic to a point and want others to follow the laws and rules set by every one and ourselves that we will ensure that all the gnats, are removed, but then bring judgement upon ourselves for continuing to sin, and judge otehrs.

Good question.

I have never in my life swallowed a camel. I'm pretty sure I'd remember that.

I flog the camel, and swat the gnat, it just relieves stress, I guess.
