No if he lied everything would cease to exist. By his word all was created and is sustained. however the bible does mention him changing his mind on a few issues.

He cant lie, he cant contradict himself...as to whether he can change His mind, I'm still not sure about that...people say He has a set plan for everyone so you could argue he doesnt have to change his mind, but then again why cant he change His mind? some people might say that if you can get God to change His mind, you just got the most powerful God to do something on your request...which is making you seem more powerful than GOD! im still not sure about this myself...my gut feeling tells me that His plan is an all loving plan, and theres no need for him to change his mind about anything...EVERYTHING is for a reason

It is NOT in God's nature to lie- it just isn't, and he knows all, so why on Earth would he contradict himself or change his mind if he can be anywhere in time, at any time. You change your mind or conatradict yourself if you don't like what happened because of something you siad... it just doesn't make any sense that he would.

Hi, Photografr7, and thanks for your question!
The Judeo-Christian God, according to his descriptions, cannot "sin", which is to rebel against his nature. In the Torah we are given three different areas of commands, all three of which mankind failed to keep.
The first was in the Garden of Eden where the only rule was not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve took an apple, bit it, and then offered it to Adam sealing the fate of mankind's need to be "reconciled" to God.
The second was when Moses returned from Mount Sinai with the 10 commandments. One of these commandments is, of course, "Thou Shalt not Lie". If we are commanded not to do it because it is against God's nature, then he also cannot do it.
The third set of rules were laid down in the Old Testament book of Leviticus. This was a detailed rule book on the rights and wrongs and what sacrifices to be made when "sin", rebellion against God's nature, and therefore God, was committed.
As for contradiction, the simple answer is no, he cannot contradict himself. However, things like truth, reason, and interpretation are in the mind of the reader or the ears of the hearer. It is quite possible for someone to mistake something God says as a contradiction. However, since God isn't currently returning phone calls to the AP, the only way to find out if there is a contradiction or not is to practically apply the lesson or situation being discussed in modern terms, or by asking God in "prayer", which is the method of communication with God used by Christians and Jews.
Finally, yes, God can change his mind. We know this because it has been very clearly documented. The most notable is when God was set on destroying Israel, or The Hebrews at the time, and Moses talked God out of it by offering his own life as a ransom for the nation. God honors this selfless act by sparing the Hebrew Nation.
Another example is used to show this ability as the sovereignty of God. In the story of Jacob and Esau, Esau is the first born of the twins, giving him the rights to the family birthright and blessing. However, their mother loved Jacob best and tricked their father into thinking Jacob was Esau, thus Jacob received the birthright and the blessing and Esau was cursed instead. Now, history says these things belonged by right to Esau as the older brother. However, God allowed it to pass to Jacob instead of punishing him and his mother for their deceit, as it was his will to do so. Now, you can see this as his plan all along, but when you understand the culture and the history up to this point, you see that God exercised his rights as Sovereign to change the way the birthright passed in this one scenario. Thus, his mind originally was that the eldest son received the birthright, but here for his will he gave it to Jacob instead.
I hope this answers your question as completely as possible, and I hope you have a merry Christmas! = )

Lie or contradict himself, no. He is truth, love and cannot lie. (Titus 1:2;1 John 4:8;Ps 31:5)
Change his mind, yes. He can if there's a justifiable reason for it. (Gen 18:20-33)
He does not do thing based on emotion, but on his standards of justice, love, wisdom and power. Using them in perfect balance for each situation.

God technically exists in the past, present and future. With that said, why would anyone with such foresight/hindsight ever need to change his mind? How can one ever be wrong when one can exist in the future? Yet in the bible, God has indeed changed his mind, destroyed the world at least once or twice over.....
You can't ask a question of faith, and expect a logical answer.

Can God lie? No
Contradict Himself? No
Changed His mind? On some things only.
The "perfect will" of God. " can not be changed"
The "permissive will" of God "can be changed"
Hope you and your family have a great Christmas.

It depends....if you believe that god exists as a being well i might say he didn`t think twice before creating men.But if you see god as i do( as nature and chemical and physical balance all around us)well he would create things for a certain pourpose(for other livings) not for fun (men kind was a total mistake)
