It's not easy to clean around a wound without causing further bleeding. Blood can only be removed by rinsing with water, or if possible washing the hair. Perhaps you could help since you will be better able to see the wound.

Why haven't you called any one yet on the phone? It's quicker and you can't see the wound to treat it until it's unmatted. Use a towel, soak it in water and use it as a sponge to squeeze gently over her hair. Once it is pretty soaked, use something anti-bacterial to wash her hair and scalp, preferably Betadine. Head to the doctor for a check as this is a very tricky area, you can't see any damage under the scalp!

you need to make an appt with a dr, and watch your wife. if she starts puking or if she passes out or gets a fever get her to an ER. anyway she will just have to wash it out with shampoo. you wife is bleeding profusely and you are concerned about her hair?

Wash it thourgly with a gentle shampoo, and don't get shampoo between the cut, it burns! thn go see a doctor for recovery ideas.

use gentle soap and water, try to wash around the cut, it will sting if she gets soap into the cut. should see a doctor, she might need stitches!
