It is more to do with the refigeration otions we have now. You could always burn the cr*p out of something.
the whole "Jews must not eat Pork" stems from the fact that Pork being a meat the spoil very quickly and the East being very warm, Pork could quickl become dangerous to eat in the days before refrigeration.
Dirro the idea of Halal, as a "bled" animal will spoil less quickly than a regularly killed one.
the fact that refrigeration is now avaiable however has not meant things can move on-or progress to more realistic arritudes. what was once a religious guidelines based on common sense and safety is now a "we do it because no-one has told us we can think for outselves now the rules have changed".
A bit like the "Go forth and multiply" doctrine - which I suspect if God was able to have a word, hemight change that to "heh, enough already, you'r overcrowded, use a little sense here guys!"
Beef (and game) can actually still be eaten after thay have rotted down. Indeed there are many people who do not wish to eat beef until it HAS matured for a few weeks!
Game likewise - pheasant that has been hung until the bird falls to the ground and the neck has rotted away. It doesn't do it for me, but to each their own - and it will do no harm.
PS: As for the pig being once of the dirties animals, that is simply untrue. If a pig is permitted to live in a clean environment it tends to be one of the cleanest animals going. They only tend to be filthy because of disgraceful famring methods.

Probably because of how our culture has been formed. When we came over to the USA way back in the day the native americans taught us how to live off the land, etc. Maybe, we were taught to eat pigs, cows, chickens, and avoid eating dogs, cats, horses. So, as our society and culture evolved, we chose to keep pet-like animals off the menu and it has stayed that way to this day. This is a completely logic based answer though, I don't know the facts of what our culture was taught by the native americans but it sounds right to me.

Yes, the impurities in their body goes to the fat and you know how fatty pork is! They don't expel the impurities the same way as other mammals. Also, it has more fat than than cow, deer, goat, etc. Another thing, pigs and hogs eat other dead pigs and hogs that might die in the pen. They also eat anything and everything except for one thing that I know of from my parents raising a couple...they don't seem to like chocolate!

What?!, as long as pork is cooked to it's suggested temp. (160 degrees F internal) the only thing to worry about would be the fat content. A farm raised pig is far less likely to have a disease or parasite than an animal not bred and raised for human consumption.

Pigs have been unhealthy throughout history. As you may have experienced, what tastes good, is not good for you. The pig has come to be one of the dirtiest animals.

did you ever hear a kind of worm that living in a pig, that never live in other animal such as cow, sheep,or chicken.
the worm is can stand for some temperature. so it can live in your stomack as well. And amazingly still alive althought all of the body was apart? when you decide to eat one make sure you cook it well.

Pigs eat trash and garbage. They are like natures garbage disposals. This is why there are a lot of warnings against eating pork. But it is so good!

I sure hope not, sausage & bacon are my favorite. But I do know it is very fattening and high in calories. I think I have bacon or sausage every morning for breakfast....the key is moderation though.
