Sorry to go with the flock, but you'll have to talk to his doctor. Keep this in mind: is this your only concern about his development? Is there anything else he does or doesn't do that makes you think there is a problem? Be objective (I know moms aren't good at that, but you're the only expert on your kid, and the doctor will rely on your observations before making suggestions) and see what you come up with.

Yes, this should be something he should be able to do by now. He just needs some work on his coordination... Practice lots by jumping at home. Also check to see if he is able to coordinate his arm movements together. Can he do the same thing on either side of his body with his arms at the same time, or is that "off" as well? You may want to talk to his pediatrician to see if there are some possible coordination issues going on bilaterally.

You should take him to his ped. A kid in our family has a problem with his feet. It is painful for him to run and move around, but his parents didn't know for like four years. Now he has to wait four years without running or playing until he can get a surgery to correct his feet. I'm not saying it's this because I don't know much about it, but better safe than sorry. You are a good mom for worrying. I hope I helped!

I've seen kids do that before. It usually goes away as they get older. If you are really concerned, you can always talk to his pediatrician about it.
