It's a funny little dilemma, isn't it? Now there is a bible verse to suggest that having long hair is against the natural order of things:
1 Corinthians, 11:14- "Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?"
But if that's true then why do we always depict Jesus as having long hair? I just don't know, man. I wish I could help you more.

And what makes you think that Jesus had long hair? Nowhere in the bible does it say Jesus had long hair. The pictures that we recognize as Jesus are only artist's conceptions and have no basis is reality. The Bible never gives any physical description of Christ. The closest thing we get to a description is in Isaiah 53:2, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.” All this tells us is that Jesus’ appearance was just like any other man's – He was ordinary-looking. Isaiah was here prophesying that the coming suffering Servant would arise in lowly conditions and wear none of the usual emblems of royalty, making His true identity visible only to the discerning eye of faith. Jesus was a Jew, so He likely had dark skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. This is a far cry from the blond-haired, blue-eyed, fair-skinned Jesus in many modern pictures. One thing is clear: if it were important for us to know what He really did look like, Matthew, Peter and John, who spent three years with Him, would certainly be able to give us an accurate description, as would His own brothers, James and Jude. Yet, these New Testament writers offer no details about His physical attributes.

It is not known whether Jesus had long hair or not. We cannot rely on Renaissance paintings for an accurate description of what Christ looked like. We do know that in the Jewish culture of the time, long hair was considered shameful to a man. Also, if Jesus had long hair, Judas wouldn't have had to kiss Him to point Him out to the mob. He would have just had to say, "It's the guy with the long hair." Because of the influence of the Romans, it was common to have short hair.
Today, long hair in men is still associated with hippies and non-conformists, so it is looked down upon and does not afford respect.

Jesus was a Nazarite ,yes he was from Nazareth, But in the Old Testament there was a vowel you could take and that was to be set apart for God ,Samson was a Nazirite, and there is good indication that the Apostle Paul was to , A nazirite couldn't cut his hair in the time that he set aside for God ,Its a fascinating studie /Peace

Actually 'God' did not have 'long hair'.
The Deity you refer to is the original one of the Jews. Christians and Muslims alike worship this very same Deity.
The ancient Jews had very short curly hair, usually a very dark brown as well.
The image you are referring to is the one that Western Europe applied to God and Jesus because they went through a period of 'hating Jews' for a while.
Let's face facts....... if you hate a Jew, why would you portray your Deity as one?
So they gave God and Jesus more 'Jupiter-like' qualities (made him taller for instance as well)

We don't know for a fact if God had hair at all, much less long hair. Personally, i love long hair on a man or woman as long as it's nice hair, you know?

whether you choose to believe jesus was god or not, is irrellivant. jessus is portrayed in virtually every picture as having long hair with a robe and sandles. in the 1960's i was asked to leave a church because of my long hair and sandles. yet those very same pictures i have previously mentioned were hanging on the wall. so i know what you mean my friend. i just put it down to biased ignorance and let them wallow in their own stupidity.

WHAT???! You mean there's hypocritic Chritians???? Has nothing to do with that, but more with the thought process that of the majority of people, long hair symbolizes failure.
It really is just stereo typing, kind of like what you just did. Take care and God bless
