If you can't even type out what exactly you want to do to/with him, then NO.
Other than that, you're technically 'of legal age', but he's old enough to be your FATHER. Think about your dad next time you look at him. That feeling will go away pretty soon.
It's not a good idea. I'd be worried that it would turn into a 'sugar daddy'-type thing. I mean, really, what can a man that old offer someone who's not even two decades old? And what can you offer him, other than a hot body (in his mind)? NOTHING! It won't work.
Be his friend if you want. If you still feel this way when he's 45 and you're 25, MAYBE. Wait a little longer. When he's 50 and you're 30, go ahead if you want. Then you'll be old enough to see what you're getting into.
But think of it. When you're 50 ... not even retired yet ... he could be geriatric! He'll be 70 YEARS OLD! What if he has health problems? What if he has to move into a nursing home?
It's not worth ruining your life over. Be his friend for now, and like I said, think about it again in 5 years.

Um, I guess, if that's what you really want to do. You're an adult and can do what you want. Keep in mind that he could have children your age and has been through a lot more of life (baggage, baggage, baggage) than you have at this point. "Doesn't act like 40" could mean "youthful" or could mean "woefully immature."
Picture yourself as a 40 year old woman. Think you'll be dating 19-year-olds? Think about what a 40 year old man sees in a 19 year old girl.
Good luck--

Is it OK? Yes, you are both adults. Is it a good idea? Don't rush into anything. At 19 you still have a lot of changes ahead of you. What you like at 19 might leave you wondering what you were thinking when you are 25. That having been said if you like each other have a little fun with it. SOMETIMES these things do work out. Just take it slow and keep your eyes open.

It's legal. But, I have been in a relationship with someone 12 years my senior in the past. We were married for almost 8 yrs. We had nothing in common, and the generation gap was too much.
You are an "adult" now, so you can do what you want. Usually the age difference will get the best of a couple, but hey, SOME work.

Yeah, but he is still 40!!!!! He is a whole drinking age older than you!!!! He was drinking when you were coming out of your mothers womb!!! That is like dating your dad! But then again love is blind. But it still makes me wonder why a 40 year old would want to anything to do with a 19 year old. Kinda Creepy don't you think? I think that you should be carefull. Make sure he isn't married. Just because he doesn't wear a ring doesn't mean he isn't married. Good Luck & and please be careful hun!!! God Bless!

Before getting into a relationship... find out why he is still single at his age. Not that anything is wrong with being single at 40... but if you plan to get married one day, find out if he is anti-marriage before getting involved with him.... because then you will have problems later on down the road. That is... if you are looking for that kind of relationship, you know, something serious. If you aren't looking for anything that could get serious, and just a good time.. go for it if you really want.

when I was 19 I married a 35 year old- he was abusive and a drug addict (after we got married of course, before that he was great)
Two things my parents told me that I did not want to listen to.
1. if he is still single at 40, there is probably a reason
2. if he is pursing a 19 yr old at 40, there is probably something wrong with him.
I know you want to think the best of him, but usually manipulative people find younger ones to manipulate. I learned my lesson the hard way, stick a little closer to your age. If you must, make it a lust thing, must admit sex with my ex was the best!

Honey you need to run as fast as you can from him! You may get along right now but as you get older you ideas and other things will change, where he's done just about all the changing he's going to do. You will grow a part even if you try not to let it happen. Older men all good but he's a little too old for you right now. Break it off but it hurts either of you too much.

Yes, it is fine. I was 20 when I married my 41 year old husband. As long as you have a good time together that is all that matters. I agree to not rush into anything, but age is just a number.
