Hi.Im from the island of Dominica i guess you should know where that is as we both are in the lesser antillles.

One of the things that gives Dominica the edge is that we use the same Ec currency as you all so you wont have to buy the US dollar
Most Night Clubs charge a $10-$15 dollar entrance fee and if there are very special occasion like a double Dj or a large number of bands the prices maybe on avergae be inbetween $20-$30
Most of the sites in Dominica are free. The only sites you pay before entering are the ecotourist sites. And that small fee is only $5.00 Ec to upkep the services there. But if you want to just go relax on a beach or bathe in a river then that is absolutely free.
Food here in Domnica is almost free as we are an agriculturally based country and was blessed with the most fertile soil in the caribbean and one of the highest rainfalls too.We even export produce to St kitts and Nevis.
Things to do
*Snorkelling-we got one of the cleanest reefs in the carbbean because we are so still so pristine. We got the famous Champagne snorkelllng area where warm sulpher volcanic bubbles come from the sea bed thus giving its Champagne looking effect-that is where the name was derived.
*Horse back riding
*Whale Watching(and dolphin)-We were Branded the whale watching Capital of the Caribbean
*If you come around our Carnival time you could participate in the "jump up".If you wish to join a band you have the choice of a T-shirt band which is on tuesdays and cheaper (generally about $35 -$50 Ec) or the Costume bands on Monday which range from $150-above.Or... you could just wait for nightfall and follow any band you wish -at that time its free.
*Hiking-Many places to hike as we have uncountable waterfalls, several fresh water lakes, 365 rivers, ancient maroon trails and ofcourse our ONE OF A KIND famous "Boiling Lake.Only place in the caribbean where this exists.and largest in the world and largest of ITS KIND.
*If you come around our Independance time you could always go to our "World Creole Music Festival" which is always the last weekend in October. The Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You get to see many artistes each night and the ticket on avergae is $200 Ec for all three nights if you buy the season ticket.
*There are many other things to do in Dominica and the webites i give you may provide price range etc
Hope you choose Dominica and if you do Welcome in advance and enjoy your stay.

go to the beach, rain forest, fishing, hiking, swimming or just walk around the island. you should go shopping in st martin or if your feeling adventurous take a ferry to the island of Montserrat and look at the volcano.the best, just wait for carnival time and find out from locals when it is but December and around x-mas is perfect because lots of streets parties and carnivals. visit neighboring Antigua or Montserrat around December and you will find a party but not to worry st kitts and Nevis will have some as well.

Walk, hike & take the bus around the island. Meet the locals; they'll advise or will want to show you their island. Ask the merchants. Read the paper. Listen to the radio. Have a drink in a local pub (not necessarily in a resort or hotel).
