I would have to say the talking on the cell phone or text messaging at the dinner table is grounds for immediate phone catapult. Really. There is a good chance that nobody's going to die while you enjoy a meal with family and/or friends.

Years ago a lady would sit at the table and then take off her gloves. A gentleman would take off his gloves and then sit down to dine. It's been going downhill ever since that practice went out of fashion. Mouth open while eating, talking while eating, is never done. Knife and fork together on one side of the plate when you've finished. Simple things make for a pleasant dining experience for both. I blame his mum and dad, probably pigs an' all.

Most of the above is pretty bad but the worst must be farting or burping really gratuitously at the table.

The offender deserves to be taken out, tied up and left in the snow to die.

Any time someone attacks his or her food like an animal or primitive caveman is just plain disgusting. I remember being asked out on a dinner date years ago, and the guy chewed apart his chicken like a half-starved jackal. I was so disgusted.

Taking food from someone else's plate.
Taking food out of your mouth ( well, okay, a fish bone... I can see that as an exception)
Eating food with fingers that clearly are not finger foods.
Eating with your head down, two inches from the plate.
Mixing the food into one big pile.
Tucking the napkin under your chin.

Someone at the next table in a restaurant has cow manure on his clothes and the waiter has the audacity to pretend not to notice.

I hate when people smack their lips and chew with their mouths open. I really don't understand why some people feel the need to act like wild boars when they sit down to a meal.

When people don't chew with their mouth closed resulting in a disgusting, smacking sound!!! It doesn't exactly offend me, but it sure as heck is gross, not to mention annoying!!!!
