Has anyone ever heard of a chili dog just chili and bread,no hot dog. My wife says she was taught that chili dog is just chili and hotdog bun.NO MEAT?????????????

The chili dog in some recipes doesn't contain a hot dog. The chili usually has meat in it (usually ground beef)...it just depends on the variation of the recipe...

Wouldnt what your wife was eating actually be called chili bread?? I have always eaten it with a hot dog, chili, maybe a little onion, and a bun.

This is a southern thing. In the south all hot dogs are with chili. If you ask for a chili dog, You just get chili. If you don't want chili, weird, you say "no chili".

yes, it's called a chili dog...not sure why because there is no dog.where I'm from they are called chili buns.
