Just remember that the whole social scene is a bit of a joke. One day you will be happily married with kids and when you think back to the problem you have now you will laugh at this. Just get in about and remember the people that you feel you want to look good in front of will just be a memory one day when you are in a very happy place.
Life is what you make it you don't need to get smashed to enjoy it.

Believe in yourself......they say life begins at 40 but why wait as I did...when I hit 40, although I had never shyed away from speaking my mind, I used to mindful of upsetting people, but then I realised that by speaking my mind I didnt actually offend anyway...and that is one way to gain confidence....Don't live a lie and you will never be found wanting....GOOD LUCK

Look at yourself in the mirror give yourself a big smile and look at how good you look. Even if you look a holy terror there must be something that's okay. The throw your shoulders back, imagine you look a million dollars, and you will automatically exude confidence. Steer clear of too much drink cos you will look a right holy terror when you are bladdered in the gutter

Well you feel more cormfortable about your self when you drink, so you seem to have issues with feelign cormfortable about the way you act/look/speak around others. It's a self esteem issue that you can cure by simply socializing more without the need to drink, and simply by accepting who you are.

Don't care. Who cares if someone shoots you down. If they do, they are missing out. If you don't put yourself out there, how is anyone going to get to know you? Let go of your inhibitions and live. Otherwise, you'll wake up 60 and regret not living.
