I've heard that chicken pox in adults is more severe, but can it also make me sterile, or can I get pnemonia? Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated. =)

Scarring. So don't scratch or pop them. Soaking in Warm bath with either oatmeal or Aveeno will help. I had them when I was 27 and pregnant. Not a pretty sight. Calamine Lotion will also help with the itching. Sorry Hope you feel better. Don't think it will make you sterile. That is mumps.

Chicke Pox as an adult is more dangerous than when a child. If you have been to a doctor, they can give you treatment and advice. I never heard the sterile thing ,but im not an expert in chicken pox. I would worry about fevers developing into something worse, that could cause other health problems. Also, you could face scarring from the pox.

Since your immune system is weaker with age it is a lot harder the older you are but 26 isn't too dangerous. I suggest you talk to a doctor....there are some vitamins that can really help L-Lysine. There are presiption anti virals if you need them. Most likely that will be determined by how sick you get from this since most doctors don't prescibe them too easily.

My guess is that if you didn't get it as a child that your immune system isn't naturally weak so although it is a bigger problem than when your kid I wouldn't get too scared.

I would also take garlic and get plenty of liquids, orange juice, and rest. If you do all you can you have caught it early enough you should be ok.

Chickenpox is an acute, systemic, usually childhood infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus (human herpesvirus type 3). It usually begins with mild constitutional symptoms that are followed shortly by skin lesions appearing in crops and characterized by macules, papules, vesicles, and crusting. Patients at risk of severe neurologic or other systemic complications (eg, pneumonia) include adults, newborns, and patients who are immunocompromised or have certain underlying medical conditions. Diagnosis is clinical. Those at risk of severe complications receive postexposure prophylaxis with immune globulins, and, if disease develops, treatment with antiviral drugs (eg, valacyclovir, famciclovir, acyclovir). Vaccination provides effective prevention.
