Wow! I used to pierce ears at Claire's stores. If your earrings are infected you need to go to Urgent Care or as an emergency walk-in patient as soon as possible. You might consider taking your earrings out if they hurt or there is any puss coming out. My sister had this problem when she was a kid and her ears had swelled up so much that the doctor had cut part of her earlobe off to get towards the earring back so they could get the earring out of her ear. I am not trying to scare you so I am sorry if I did! In the meantime you might want to get some antibiotic ointment to put on your ears until you can see your doctor. I would say to do this like twice a day...but ultimately you should get into see a doctor as soon as possible. I hope this helps and Good Luck!

This is pretty common with pierced ears. Claire's (and a lot of places that do piercing) sells a product that's meant to help clear up infections and keep the ears clean.

If you don't have a Claire's in your area, you can always clean your ears with a solution of warm water and peroxide. That's usually pretty effective in clearing up an infection. Or, if it's really aggravating you and you don't mind having red dots on your ears, apply a little Betadyne with a cotton swab.

But if your ears are really swollen, red, and hot to the touch, you don't want to wait for a doctor's appointment. Go to the ER or one of those walk-in "urgent care" clinics and get some antibiotics and a good disinfectant wash. You don't want to end up with major problems, so it will be worth the extra money -- trust me.

If you have earrings in...take them out. Clean infected areas with hydrogen peroxide and then put Neosporin on them. Repeat this at least twice a day. Keep your earrings out until completely healed.

Get some OTC neosporin or some other antibiotic and apply it to the infected areas daily. Wash thoroughly as well.
DO NOT put the earings back in!

Ask the pharmacist or your doctor to see if there is any over the counter cream to buy & put on.
Wear only real gold and real silver earrings. I used to get the same problem.

God Bless

Hydrogen Peroxide. Or press a warm, wet washcloth against them for several minutes each day. I had the same problem when I was a kid, and the Benzoyl Peroxide helped with the puss.

1st- take the earrings out. That'll help a whole lot. 2nd- put some rubbing alcohol or peroxide on your ears to help fight the infection.

I suggest you use face wash and make sure to deinfect your earings :) Also make sure if your ear holes wont seal cause you've already worn your earings for 6 weeks that you take them out when you go to bed. That rests your ears better.

you need to tell your Doc your situation, if he makes you wait 'till your appointment then you should seek help at a clinic. Possible a pharmacist might help. Then I would look for another prime care Doctor.
