First of all international student are not allowed to work in the United States without authorization from INS, You can work on campus thats if you find a job on campus that says non work study and be approved before you can work and then apply for a social security number now there are restrictions to work on campus, International students can not work more than 20 hours when school is in session but can work more than 20 hours without restriction during non school session. And remember if you work outside campus it is illegal you must first seek INS authorization. I hope i answered your question.

The minimum wage is 5.15 per hour. You cannot support yourself through undergraduate in the USA and a study permit is not a work permit. You can work on campus with a study permit, if you are planning to live on a major campus...but you cannot work off campus without a work permit and on campus you are limited to 15 hours a week. Work permits are hard to come by.....generally you cannot get a study visa with available funds. My two sense apply for scholarships.... but go to undergraduate school in your home country if you cannot find a scholarship. Then go to graduate school in the US where they pay tuition and the cost of living if you are determined to have a us education.

As a full time student, you'll likely not want to work beyond 20 hours, indeed your University my try and limit the number of hours you work, so as not to interfere with your study. If you are a graduate student, you may get a TA or RA position, where the base rate of pay will be determined by the college. I'm not sure of minimum wage laws apply.

Current Minimum Wage in the U.S. is $5.15 (USD) per hour and if you are a student, you are usually allowed 30 hours per week, if you are a full-time student. If you are less than full-time, you can probably work more hours.

$6.35 and 40 is max hours
40 hours a week and anything over that is usually considered overtime.. so thats time and a half pay... unless you get a job in some clothes factory sweatshop or something...then the sky is the limit
