This guy has been living with my brother for months now. He won't go get a day job-or at least a part time job (from 1 to when my nephews dad gets home he takes care of him.) and he eats everything, he won't take a shower and when we go somewhere to eat he orders the most expensive thing off of the menu.
When we talk to my brother about him getting a job, he says we are being selfish. Yet I don't feel like its right having to pay bills that he has runned up $200-$300 every month. What can we do to fix this problem?

Well, sounds to me like you have a nose problem. It is in somebody Else's business so it's not your question to ask and it's a bit out of joint seeing as how it bothers you but not your brother. Are you paying the bills ? If you are then please forgive me, your nose is right to be out of joint.
Everyone on this earth should be doing everything they can to carry their own self.W e all need to offer help from time to time but only as long as we see the help is appreciated and not abused. AND we also need help from time to time and if you never have or never do need help, consider yourself very lucky.
Are you the only one that is bothered by your brothers guest ??
It's Christmas, Why don't you invite this fellow to go with you to a homeless shelter and you two volunteer to help out serving meals or see in what way you can serve the less fortunate. Some folks truly are having a tough time through no fault of their own. You have no idea until you do a good deed how good it makes you feel on the inside. God will Bless You. I feel he will touch your heart in such a way that you will start the New Year with a host of ways to make this world a better place in your little corner of this world. Time to send him a bill for services and products rendered. No one I mean no one... has the right to live without a cost of doing so...food and housing is a right but it is also a responsibility. Give him 4 wks to get a job or else he is Out...make sure he understands that. And stick to it.

Unless he is living in your home and eating all of your food, it is none of your business. Your brother must be a slow learner. Hopefully he will wake up one of these days.
If he is costing you money, then show him the door, change the locks and set his stuff outside the door. Call the police and have him escorted off the premises. Good Luck!!
P.S. Have you thought of the possibility that this guy is gay and so is your brother???? Hmmmm???

uhm, are you only involved because he's your brother, or do you live with them...?
either way, try to help get him on his feet.
not just by being a shoulder to cry on and an owner of a house to sleep in, push him a little and try to secure a job for him. Giving him little oppertunities for excuses. also, you might want to involved his famile/friends
be forceful but not mean.

Your brother is going to have to see that there is a problem for himself. Until he does that nothing will ever cahnge. Maybe your brother enjoys being used.

sorry you question doesn't make any sense. If you are the one who has to pay for this person, you can tell him to get lost right quick, if some one else is paying then it is not your problem and you cannot fix it,

If your brother is ok with it, i don't think you should worry about it. maybe your brother feels he owes him something and this is his way of repaying him. I wouldn't worry about if your brother isn't.
