This gets a little tricky so bear with me.

Anxiety can first be classed as a group called Primary Anxiety conditions of which there are phobias, panic attacks, generalized anxiety attacks, post traumatic stress disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and dissociative disorders.

Yur right, that is a lot of ways for a person to be anxious.

Luckily what you asked about was just two forms of anxiety-generalized anxiety and panic attacks.

First panic attacks occur out of the clear blue and result in short term severe anxiety. People with this condition eventually get anxious about becoming anxious and begins to do things to try to avoid panic.

On the other hand some people are anxious all of the time-they tend to stay very alert and easily excitable. These people are suffering from generalized anxiety. They tend to complain of increased sweating, rapid heart beat, or the feeling that "something" bad might happen.

Now, here's the problem, anxiety can have physical causes as well as mental causes. The best thing a person can do to take care of anxiety is to make up their mind to see a physician to find out what is going on and get treatment. The act of making up their mind to actually do something about the problem can bring a lot of relief. Hope this helps.

Anxiety disorders are usually broken down into the following : Generalized anxiety disorders, panic disorders, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic disorder.
People who suffer from an anxiety disorder have anxiety that is problematic enough to interfere with their ability to function effectively or enjoy everyday life.

Speaking in terms of panic disorders, one experiences unexpected, severe panic attacks that may last only minutes. These attacks begin with a feeling of intense apprehension, fear or terror. Physical symptoms include autonomic hyperactivity (increased heart rate) , disorientation and/or sensations of choking. It is diagnosed when an individual has recurrent unexpected panic attacks and also begins to have persistent concerns about the possibility of having more attacks.

To my knowledge they're connected to each other.First you become anxious about everything then, you you start to panic.I think they're both the same disorder, and they're treated the same way.Symptoms are almost the same.
