I heard the best way to get read of a cold is to soak in a hot bath and just continue with your day as normally as possible and let the cold wear off on its own. if your symptons worsen, i would see a physician

If it has been over a week, you probably need to follow-up with a doctor if you have not seen one already and you need to start taking Vitamin C 500-1000mg 2x a day, and contimue taking Vitamin C for at least a week to a week and a half after you feel better. You need to go to the doctor to let the physician listen to your lungs and how you are breathing to rule out other things such as the flu or pneumonia. Start taking Viatmin C. Start on it today and see a doctor for further investigation of this problem. A cold longer than a week can turn into a serious infection and cause you major problems in the long run. The general rule of thumb is go to the doctor as the first signs of any cold or sinus problem begin to nip them in the bud. Hope you will feel better soon.

See site below for the quickest way to get over a cold or the flu and why. Also what do COLDs have to do with COLD weather? How to avoid getting colds and how are colds good for your health. As far as medications go, Vioxx killed more Americans than the terrorists did on 9/11.
