I’ve been friends with this woman for years. She wanted to date me-so we dated for a few months. Then, she decides she just wants to be friends again. I was hurt-so I tell her I want to distance myself for a while to heal. She got angry with me. We kept going out just like before (now as “friends”) with only a kiss and hug every now and then. Other than her job and family, she spends the rest of her free time with me. She told me that nobody has shown love/concern for her like me-possibly including her own mother. She has had only abusive relationships with guys and was sexually abused as a child. She even told her therapist that I would be the perfect boyfriend, but she won’t go there. She told me that she has never had such an in depth connection with anyone like me-male or female. What’s up? I don’t get it.

well she is afraid of it all changing, i was a sexually abused child and also had a few bad relationships and from my point of view when it was me i would run away from "good ones" out of the fear and the un-subconcious of feeling like i was not good enough or i did not feel like i deserved anyone that was discent,
it takes time the physical wounds heal it s what it dose to the mental part that is hard to heal. hang in there my prayers are with you and her you sound like a good man i just hope she reaches her time of healing.

You should treat her like crap. That's the way she likes it. Women are very screwed up in their head and they will do anything for a guy who treats them like crap. Try it. She will be all over you in a heart beat and she will do whatever you tell her to do.

Don't be the nice guy. Don't call her back. Take your anger out on her. Don't cow-tow to her every need.

Grow some balls. Don't be such a pu*ssy.
