The dictionary definition of the word "spiritual" is either believing in a soul, or believing in God, a church or a religion. I am constantly hearing on here, "Just because we're atheists, doesn't mean we're not spiritual." Well, if you don't believe in God, a church a religion or even a soul, I hate to tell you but you're not spiritual.
Steven.he hit the nail on the head. They just make up whatever they want to believe. That's why they don't agree on anything.

As a Humanist, I don't believe in a spirit. All consciousness occurs within the brain. It is the seat of all thoughts, memories, mood, emotions, creativity, and the like. Other parts of the body interact with the brain and can affect it, but the brain is the center. When my brain dies, all my consciousness ceases.
When I use the word spiritual, which is rare, I mean it to refer to things pertaining to what some call the "higher endowments of the intellect." It has nothing to do with a ghostly spirit that survives the body after death.
Do we find this idea comforting? That doesn't matter. The available evidence indicates that it is the truth, and I'd rather face even the most dolorific reality than cloak myself with a comforting untruth.

Some do. An atheist can believe in anything at all other than a god or gods.
I don't believe in a spirit that is separate from my body or that will survive the death of my body. My spirit, to me, is just another word for who I am.
I exercise my "spirit muscle" by learning about myself, dreaming, being creative, loving, philosophizing, meditating, and so on and so forth.

Atheists only have a lack of belief in a god or gods. To go further than that is different with every atheist.
I personally am an agnostic atheist to spiritual bodies and close to gnostic atheist to spiritual minds. The former being ghosts in my opinion - I don't believe in souls, but am unsure about all this ghost business.

This question is ridiculous without clearly defining the term "spirit." As far as its use in the born-again sense of a human spirit, the answer is no.

it truly is a very reliable question. i can actually wager as to the reply... perchance because as living creatures with fantastically advanced brains, we may be able to experience that our expertise is "above" different issues... that ingredient that places us "above" will be tagged as a soul. curiously adequate although, different cultures have approached it otherwise. In some cultures they have self belief all living issues have souls - some actually have self belief souls move or reincarnate between living issues. some cultures have self belief human beings are more desirable effective and altogether different than all different living issues (eg: Christianity). to some quantity those human beings "had it precise"... because human beings do have a element of expertise it is a ways more desirable effective and conscious than different lifeforms. although, those ancients would really were very much shocked to study about each of the animal intelligence that has been stumbled on (eg: dolphins' intelligence competitors that of many human beings)... ultimately there are cultures that say souls are in each actual ingredient. those human beings look to have a "hyper" empathy... I propose, personally i do not realize attributing expertise / emotions / experience / soul to some thing like a rock. this is an exciting question...

If your feet and legs are down below, your head up above, your back behind you and your hands/chest in front of you, WHERE ARE YOU...not where are your hands/legs etc. WHERE ARE YOU? I believe the answer to this question is where your spirit is. I've never had a person answer this question without believing they had a spirit...even atheirsts.

Some do. Part of the definition of being an atheist is being able to do or believe pretty much anything you want. There isn't really a rule-book.
