Lots of guesses from people who have no idea what they are talking about....
There are thousands of Canadians who live here in the Baja California Sur for 6 months out of the year and then summer in Canada. Also thousands who have immigrated and live here permanently. I say "here" because I have lived in the BCS for quite some time and find it absolutely to my liking. The climate is great, food is great, beaches are great and the people are the nicest, most polite and considerate that I have ever met. Don't miss the US at all.
The community where I live is predominantly American/Canadian/French/German. We're all trying to learn Spanish, but get along just fine.
All the trash you here about Mexico is like the US only talking about the ghettos in NY or LA or Chicago. Every country has their rich as well as their poor. Its how you treat them that makes the difference.
Check with your local embassy and they can give you details.

And do you realize that the US is one of the only countries on the planet that actually allows for the kind of atrocious immigration policy that we currently have? 100,000 people immigrating to the US a year is absolutely atrocious. 80% of our population growth is due to immigrants and their children. A lot of the immigration policies and red tape are ridiculous (not the ones prohibiting 3rd worlders) but then there are areas that need to be much stricter. Immigration policies are pretty much set by a cabal of corporations. We won't even have a say in the matter anyways. If we did illegal immigration would have ended decades ago. An immigration policy based on "feel bad emotions" is simply suicide. There are 2 billion people on the planet that live absolutely destitute lives and you know just as well as I do that that is a ridiculously large amount that the US cannot even accommodate a fraction of and if we did the entire country would be wrecked in a week. Immigration from the 3rd world brings higher crime rates and higher taxes or a more devalued dollar as they typically take more from the system than they give into it.

yes. You can stay in Mexico for 6 mos with only a tourist visa (the one they give you when you vacation there) if you want to stay longer, you would need to get an immigration lawyer.

Why would you go to Mexico? People are leaving Mexico for the lack of jobs and low economy. You should re-think it. How about Texas? I love my Mexico but it is full of corruption. Believe me, it is full of corruption but you do have lots of fun. You will never get bored and the food is grrrrrrrreat!!

Should be easy. Practically all the Mexicans live in the US now anyway, so lots of room. I suppose they would be glad to have someone move there. I don't think there are many requirements.
Cheers!
