Well, guess because up till that time He was truly representing man's form. After the water baptism, the Holy Spirit; the third leg of the triune God; came upon Christ. All three forms were present at that time. The voice of God from heaven, the dove (Holy Spirit), and Christ, Himself.

I used to know this cuz it was a question I once had myself. I remember studying it out but not the answer I found. There is more to it than the answers above, cuz if they were right on it would have jogged my memory. I can tell you 2 things about the answer. One it is simple and when you find it you will wonder why you did not see it, thatt's cuz I remember that happening, and 2 it is in scripture not commentaries cuz that's where I look for answers, so that must be where I found it. Leave this open for awhile and maybe it will come to me.
As always finding the answers to such questions illumunates us to the blind spots in our own outlook. Thats why when I have one I follow it to the end..
I remember my first was why Jesus told the woman who said "even the dogs get the crumbs off the Masters table"(paraphrase). Finding the answer to that opened a whole new world to me.
this may help. It was this point at which His 3 year ministery started.
The radiance is often accompanying the filling with power from the Holy Spirit which was not available for full time filling at that time in history.
This may be a mass vision, seen by those willing to accept because as you may notice some did not hear or see things the same as others.
there was something else but I lost it b4 I could get it down. Shouldn't watch TV while I do this I guess.

Jesus was baptized to fulfill all righteousness, in His own words. Also, so that John the Baptist could introduce Jesus as the Messiah and Lamb of God to Israel. Read carefully the passage below:
John 1:29-34--- The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is the one I meant when I said, 'A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel." Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God."

Following his Fathers commandments that all must be baptized by immerssion to return to Gods side. Even though Jesus may have been Gods son and the Savior he still had to show that he was no better than anybody else and had to obey Gods commandments also, and set the example for the rest of us.

God, our Father, was proud of His Son. And that is why John saw what He did. That was God. Also, after God descended on Him in the form of a dove, there was a voice that came from heaven that said: " You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

Jesus was our examble. He was baptised as our examble and then
he was filled with the Holy Ghost and accepted by God to show us and to live amoung us without destroying us with his presence. Whe we fully repent we also can be filled with the Holy Spirit and do his works . The Latter Rain will be poured out just before he comes the 2nd time. So repent and be ready

Because baptism is not a way to wash away your sins, but a demonstration of your learned and conscientious dedication to God and Christ. This is something a child cannot do. He was baptized to show his dedication to his Father.

the glow was just God putting a spotlight on his son... he wanted everyone to know that Jesus was his son, whom he was well pleased with.
