I would say being shown. Its a natural thing that people will say things that people want to hear just to make the other person happy.
But its a little more difficult for a person to show unnatural feelings especially when they don't mean it cause it could always run into bigger problems that they wouldn't know how to get out of.

Wow! You are on fire with the questions today!!!
I honestly could not give an unbiased view on either! Like you said, it would good sometimes if we could have both! If we say the first thing that blurts out, then it be good if we could immediately show our feelings!
But then there are times when we FEEL things we cannot say.......answer is........we need both!

Both have their merits, and both should be present for maximum communication+healthy relating.
One of the benefits of celibacy before marriage is that it tends to bring about an increase in the ways and lines of communication-so important in the long run.

sometimes we can't get it all out in words. Showing them would be okay, then again sometimes even showing someone you care may not come across to them the way you want it to. Me, I like things told to me directly cause I misinterpret actions constantly.

Personally, words mean nothing to me - heard it all before. I would rather be shown love by silly gestures, loads of cuddles & the unspoken words that you can sense he is thinking!

being shown how someone feels is always better then hearing it. some people have a bad habit of telling people what they want to hear. it takes more effort to show someone you that you care than to just tell them.

I'd rather be shown than told, but preferably both! You can say anything you like, but it's harder to fake things you do...

Told can often be a way to avoid showing. If they are that embarrassed about how they feel for you, how confident can you be?

Either of those options do not involve working it out for myself, so if I had to choose it would be being told. Fork taking someone else's advice on how somebody feels!
