The first response from tanj is pretty much all you should need to do.
My only concern is that you make sure to backup all you personal files first ... the fresh installation of XP Home will prompt you to reformat (erase) all previous data.

you are able to no longer downgrade from abode windows XP expert to abode windows XP abode. What you would be able to desire to do is an entire OS reinstall. in simple terms verify you have each and each of this technique installers for each and all of the classes put in on your pc and likewise each and all of the motive force CDs for the hardware.

While you're logged into pro, put in the home CD and try to do an upgrade. If it won't let you, shut the PC down, put in the home CD and try to do an upgrade. If it still won't let you, you'll have to do a clean install of home. Unfortunately, if you have to do the clean install, you'll have to reload all you programs. Good Luck!

put the cd in, reboot, f8 for advanced options menu, boot from cdrom, hit enter, delete the partition with xp pro on it, repartition the hd, install windows..

just put the disc in.. restart the computer, and as the computer is starting up the install should start, follow the directions
