Headstart is a government funded preschool program. It is a wonderful service provided by the government for parents who can't afford to send the child to a private preschool (we all know those costs) They also offer services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy and more for kids that need a little extra umph. The problem is that Headstart is losing more and more funds each year due to tax cuts etc. The families and children that need these services may in the near future lose that chance. So, if you're looking for a way to bring Christmas cheer, why not donate things to your local Headstart. You may think that you won't ever use these services or other negative thoughts, but your family, daugther, grandson, cousin etc, may benefit from these services. They are always willing to take glue, crayons, toys, books, etc. Trust me, this is a great service for disadvantaged families and children. My son is a student at one of the facilities, and they have done wonders for him.

I would agree. My mother used to work as a dietician at a local Headstart.

Definitely a worthwhile organization to donate charitable funds!
