I find the more I have of it, the more I crave it.

Olive oil itself doesn't have any components that are defined as addictive. However, your body may be craving it because it's found a new source of monounsaturated fatty acids, an essential component that's needed to ensure the body's physical and emotional functions run smoothly. The typical American diet is severely lacking in such acids.

Do you have small bumps on the back of your arms or on the back of your calves? If so, it could be an indication of a fatty acid deficiency.

Please keep in mind, however, you need to balance out your olive oil with omega 3 fatty acids (found in flaxseed and fish oils) to ensure that you don't tip the scale from one extreme to the other. Everything in moderation!

Well it is a very fine oil to cook with especially Extra Virgin Olive oil which is the finest and most expensive. Don't think that it qualifies as being addictive though.

Yes, all oil is fattening. I use spray oil or even water for frying. 2 tablespoons of any oil contains 240 fat calories. But you can have as much black coffee as you want, although green tea is better for weight loss.
