We made the mistake of buying our tree too early this year. We have had it a couple of weeks now. It is 9ft tall and the bottom half you can practically see right through!! Any suggestions at all??
We will definitley wait until much later next year to get a tree!

Put some sugar into the water, make sure there is always water. (If the end dries out it wont draw water), turn the lights off (this will help the needles be less brittle), and turn your humidifier up a bit on the furnace and the heat down.

Make sure you continue to keep the water in the tree stand full. You can't revive what's already gone on the bottom half of the tree so try this. Go to a tree lot and ask if you can have the loose branches that have been recently cut off other trees. Try to find the largest ones you can. Then drill some holes at a slight downward angle in the bare areas of your tree's trunk and place the new branches in. This is what they do with the big, tall showcase trees you see on TV. The new branches will get water from the tree trunk just the same as the "old" branches.

I saw this on Myth Busters. They sprayed the tree with hair spray. Not only did the tree last longer, but it reduced the needles from dropping. Be cautious about heat or flame when applying.

Use an artificial tree if you must have it up for a month. If you use a real tree, the maximum time is two weeks max.

Kind of like uncooking an egg, darling. If it's done, there's nothing you can do.
