I work a full time job that pays $490. a week. How will I afford rent and a child on my own while i am out of work? For a month or 2 ? I am saving my money as of now. My mothers house is too small for me and a child and I want the father to be apart of the baby's life even though we argue alot but we've been together 7 years. There is also the possibility he may be locked up soon. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a 'winner' for a boyfriend!

Go home to mom's until you are able to take care of yourself and the baby.

Doesn't your boyfriend have a job to help support you? If he goes to jail he still has the option of a work release program, but I don't think he's probably the type of guy you would want as a role model for your child. My suggestion would be to save up a few thousand if you can while living with your mom. That should be enough for you to pay bills and stay at home with your new baby full time at least 6 to 8 weeks.

I think you should live with your mom, tell your boyfriend that when he gets his attitude right, he can look you up. Um, yes a child does need his father, but how good is the child's life going to be if his father is locked up for his young life.

Your doing the right thing by saving now.l would call your local welfair office. They may help you with housing and food stamps. Get on WIC you will get free milk, cheese, eggs and more. You will also get free formula if you do not breastfeed. Start now and you should be okay by the time the baby comes
